Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has transferred the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra to the headquarters of the Department of State Services.
Kanu’s trial was transferred to the DSS headquarters to enable the court and parties involved in the matter the opportunity to inspect some exhibits tendered against the IPOB leader.
According to the judge, the trail was transferred from FHC to DSS HQ for the inspection of the IPOB leader’s shipping containers.
The judge stated that the container which was seized bu the DSS was used by the IPOB leader to import a radio transmitter into the country.
Details from the case show that the DSS had alleged that the transmitter was brought into Nigeria Radio Biafra broadcast.
Kanu, who was arrested by INTERPOL in Kenya is facing a terrorism trial levelled against him by Nigeria’s secret police.
The IPOB leader has been at the forefront of the agitation for the actualisation of the Biafra nation.
