Osu, Osun State — June 12, 2025 — In a remarkable gesture to mark its third anniversary of service to humanity, Mrs. V. A. Adejumo & Children Educational Empowerment Foundation, a non-governmental organization committed to uplifting the less privileged, has donated a newly constructed security post to the Osu Divisional Police Headquarters in Osu, Osun State.

Founded in June 2022 by the children of Mrs. Victoria A. Adejumo (popularly known as Iya Elewure), the foundation was established in recognition of their mother’s unwavering commitment to education and her sacrifices toward their academic journey. The NGO focuses on supporting children in public primary and secondary schools, especially those struggling with basic educational needs such as writing materials, school fees, uniforms, and other essentials.

The foundation is led by:

  • Mrs. Victoria A. Adejumo, Chairperson
  • Prince Adesanya Samuel Adejumo, Chief Executive Officer
  • Prince Adepoju Moses Adejumo, Secretary
  • Mrs. Adetola Comfort Fatudimu (née Adejumo), Member

In just three years, the foundation has made notable impact by organizing eight (8) editions of educational empowerment outreaches, benefiting public schools in Osu and neighboring communities such as Alakowe, Itamerin, Iloba, Iwaro, Ibodi, Igila, Itagunmodi, and Iyere. The initiative also includes support for the Nigeria Police Children School in Osu.

Recognizing the growing threat of vandalism and theft, especially targeting community infrastructure like transformers and cables, the foundation expanded its mission beyond education. To this end, it has also installed solar-powered streetlights across key areas in Osu to improve nighttime security.

The highlight of today’s celebration was the official commissioning and handover of a newly constructed security post to the Osu Divisional Police Headquarters, an initiative aimed at boosting law enforcement presence and ensuring greater safety for residents.

The event was graced by the Osu Monarch, His Royal Majesty Oba Jethro Adegoke Adejola (ADERINTOLA II), the Olosu of Osu-Ijesa Kingdom, who unveiled the commissioning plaque. In his remarks, the monarch lauded the foundation’s selfless contributions, praying for continued divine grace upon the Adejumo family and urging others to emulate their example.

Representing the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Serifat Abdulkadir, the DCO II, ASP Alabi Ebenezer, extended deep appreciation to the foundation for its unprecedented support, assuring the public that the police will continue to protect and serve with greater dedication.

In his closing remarks, Prince Adepoju Moses Adejumo, Secretary of the foundation, expressed gratitude to the royal father and his entourage—including the Asoju-Oba of Osu Kingdom and the Saba of Osu—for their presence and support. He reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to educational and community development, emphasizing the need for unity among all indigenes of Osu, both at home and in the diaspora.

“The growth and transformation of Osu is a collective responsibility,” he said, “and with God’s help, we will continue to do our part.”
