Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, the Chief of Army Staff has issued directives to the recruits of the Nigerian Army in Zaria, Kaduna state.
Speaking during the passing out parade of the recruits, Oluyede urged the new military personnel to ensure they are committed to fighting terrorists and bandits to finish.
He called on the newly recruited Army personnel to uphold the core values of Force and understand the importance of professionalism, patriotism and resilience in the face of adversity.
Six thousand one hundred and ninety-five members of the 88 Regular Recruit Intakes had their Passing Out Parade on Saturday, June 14.
Oluyede described the Nigerian Army as an institution formed on sacrifice and patriotism to the Nigerian nation.
He also intimated the recruits of the core mandate of the Nigerian Army which is to secure the sovereignty of the nation.
His words, “As you pass out today and take your place in this noble profession, be aware that you will form part of our nation’s solutions to the challenges of terrorism and insurgency.
“Therefore, wherever you are deployed, your actions must be a reflection of your training, and you must display courage in the face of adversity,” Oluyede said.
He further urged the fresh personnel to ensure they stand out in delivering the tasks ahead irrespective of how insurmountable they may seem.
