Governor Hyacinth Alia, accompanied by Nigeria’s top security officials, including Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa and Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, on Monday conducted an inspection of the Yelewata community in Benue State.
The visit was carried out on the direct orders of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Meanwhile, the president is scheduled to visit the state on Wednesday, June 18.
The inspection follows a wave of deadly violence in the region, including a recent attack that left over 200 residents dead. The massacre has drawn national outrage and heightened tensions across the Middle Belt.
In response, President Tinubu ordered an immediate, coordinated response by security agencies.
