President Bola Tinubu has called for more voluntary blood donations for survivors of the attack by suspected armed herdsmen in Yelewata town of Gumu Local Government Area, Benue State.

Tinubu made the call while speaking at a stakeholders’ town hall meeting in Makurdi, the Benue State’s capital city.

Addressing the governor of the state, Hyacinth Alia on some of the needs of the survivors of the attack, the president said there is a need for blood at the hospital.

He said, “Governor, please announce in the broadcast for people to donate more blood voluntarily to the hospitals and thank you to those medical personnel.”

The president made the call after he visited the victims of the attack at the hospital on Wednesday, June 18.

Tinubu visited the hospital straight from the Tactical Air Command, Nigerian Air Force Base in Makurdi, Benue State where he landed.

He further called on the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency and the Department of State Services to ensure that they restrategize their intelligence-gathering technique.

According to the president, such a move could help in gathering more tangible intelligence that would help nip these attacks in the bud.
