On Sunday, a man simply identified as Adamu Salisu took a drastic decision to demand that Bala Wunti, the Chief Health, Safety, and Environment Officer at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, join the Bauchi State governorship race.
It was gathered that Salisu warned that he would not come down from the high mast until Wunti declared his intention to join the race.
Salisu while stand precariously on the telecommunication mast was heard shouting in a loud voice.
Attracting attention from passersby, the man who appears to be in his 20s said, “I will not come down until Bala Wunti comes here to assure me that he will aspire for the Bauchi State gubernatorial seat come 2027 general elections.”
According to Salisu, he would be comfortable with Wunti declaring to contest for the seat of the governor in Bauchi state under any party of his choices
He stated that the time is ripe for the NNPCL executive to contribute to the well-being of the people of Bauchi state.
Salisu also noted that the people of the state are ready to throw their support behind Wunti, should he declare his interest to contest for governor.
Reacting to the action of the man who spent almost four hours on the mast, security operatives in the state stormed the scene.
They succeeded in talking the young man down from the telecommunication mast.
He was later whisked by the security operatives to an unknown location while
Members of his family followed the team to ensure his safety.
