The Benue State House of Assembly has lifted the suspension on six of the 13 lawmakers earlier sanctioned for alleged misconduct and disruption of legislative activities.

Reinstated members include Solomon Gyila, Williams Ortyom, Blessed Onah, Simon Gabo, Anyor Mato, and Elias Audu.

According to a statement issued by Terver Zamber, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, the decision followed a formal letter of apology submitted by the affected lawmakers to the Speaker and the entire House.

“The House has lifted the suspension on the six members following their apology letter,” Zamber said.

The move is seen as a step towards restoring harmony and legislative progress in the 10th Assembly, which now has 27 active members out of a total of 32.

The reinstatement is expected to bring relief to the lawmakers and their constituents, who had raised concerns over the lack of representation during the suspension period.
