The Adamawa state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) says it has not endorsed Nuhu Ribadu, national security adviser (NSA), for any political position ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party issued the clarification on Thursday following reports that stakeholders of the APC in Hong LGA had declared support for Ribadu’s governorship ambition during a recent meeting.
In a statement titled “Rebuttal: Adamawa APC endorses Tinubu, Ribadu”, Muhammed Abdullahi, the state publicity secretary, described the claim as a “mischievous distortion” of the meeting’s actual purpose.
He said the gathering in Hong was part of the party’s ongoing grassroots mobilization tour across local government areas in the state.
The statement read: “We wish to state categorically that the report is entirely misleading and misrepresents the purpose and proceedings of the meeting held in Hong.
“The meeting was held in continuation of our ongoing local government tours aimed at mobilizing our members and passing down the collective position of the party at all levels, that President Tinubu deserves another term of four years.”
The party reaffirmed its focus on consolidating support for President Bola Tinubu and said no formal discussion or endorsement for any 2027 gubernatorial candidate has taken place.
