By Comrade Simon Ogbe, Chairman, Zenith Labour Party in Benue State and Chairman, Coalition of Registered Political Parties in Benue State

    Condemnation of Attacks

We, the Coalition of Chairmen of Registered Political Parties in Benue State, strongly condemn the attack on policemen deployed to prevent herdsmen attacks in Kastina Ala Local Government Area on September 19, 2025. Comrade Simon Ogbe, speaking on behalf of the group, expressed outrage over the senseless violence that has resulted in the loss of lives and is a threat to the peace and stability of our state.

    Demands for Action

Comrade Simon Ogbe demands that Governor Hyacinth Alia convene a stakeholders’ meeting to discuss the way forward and find lasting solutions to the insecurity caused by herdsmen attacks, as advised by President Bola Tinubu during his recent visit. We also urge the governor to take immediate action to prevent further bloodshed. Comrade Ogbe emphasized that the security advisers to the governor have shown incompetence and should resign with immediate effect.

    Unity and Collective Action

Comrade Simon Ogbe emphasized the need for unity among all Benue sons and daughters across party lines to combat this common enemy. The governor must rise to the challenge and act as the chief security officer of the state. We sympathize with the Commissioner of Police over the ambush of ASP Danlamin Usman and his team and urge him not to be discouraged.

Call to Stakeholders and Time for Action

Comrade Ogbe calls on all stakeholders to refrain from politicizing the killings in the state. As chairmen of registered political parties, we will not hesitate to blacklist anyone who attempts to exploit this situation for political gain. We will also expose any politician sponsoring insecurity in the state for their ambition. Comrade Ogbe urged the governor to take immediate action and work with all stakeholders to bring peace to the state, saying “Benue deserves better, and Alia best is not good enough.”

    Signed,

    Comrade Simon Ogbe
