    Benue ZLP Chairman, Simon Ogbe, Mourns Late Professor Eliagwu Jonah Isawa

    • The State Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in Benue State and Chairman of the Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP), Comrade Simon O. Ogbe, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Professor Eliagwu Jonah Isawa, describing him as an icon of knowledge, leadership, and service to humanity.

    In a heartfelt tribute, Comrade Ogbe said Professor Isawa, an illustrious Idoma son from Otukpo Local Government Area and renowned Professor of Political Science, dedicated his life to national development through scholarship, leadership, and mentorship.

    “As a mentor, father figure, and boss, his influence on my personal growth and leadership journey cannot be overstated. Professor Isawa encouraged many young people, including myself, to pursue education and leadership with purpose and integrity. His mentorship and personal guidance profoundly affected my life, shaping my values and the path I follow today,” Ogbe stated.

    He further highlighted Professor Isawa’s remarkable legacy in academia and public service, noting his roles as Director-General of the National Council on Intergovernmental Relations, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of UNITAR, member of the Presidential Advisory Committee, and Director at the New Nigerian Development Company.

    Ogbe described his death as a great loss not only to the Idoma Nation but to Nigeria at large, emphasizing that the country will miss his wisdom and visionary leadership. He extended condolences to the family, the people of Otukpo, and the entire Idoma nation.

    “May the gentle soul of Professor Eliagwu Jonah Isawa rest in perfect peace, and may his legacy of knowledge, mentorship, and leadership continue to inspire generations to come,” he added.
