The governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno has commissioned the revamped Ibom Paint factory in the state.
The paint factory located at Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom was said to have been abandoned following years of setbacks.
Speaking on the newly revamped paint factory, the Akwa Ibom State governor said the commissioning was fulfilling.
He also said he was confident that with the new management in place, the factory should anticipate an expansion.
He wrote in a post on X, “Our numerous projects across the State will provide a ready market for the brand, so I call on all project handlers in the State to patronise it.
“I commend the MD of AKICORP, Pastor ImoAbasi Jacob and his team for interpreting the dream of revamping the company and for the new management approach to ensure return on investment,” Eno stated.
Recall that the governor had officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Politics Nigeria earlier reported that the governor joined the APC on Friday, June 6, 2025.
At the event which was attended by key leaders of the ruling party in Akwa Ibom, the governor said it was time for the state to move.
He was received into the APC by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio while President Bola Tinubu watched the event on a television at the President Villa.
