President Bola Tinubu is billed to launch the 2,000 tractors initiative for the Renewed Hope Agriculture Mechanisation Program (HEDA), the presidency has said.
Sunday Dare, the special adviser to the president on media and public communication on Monday, said all is set for the launch of the tractors.
According to Dare, the tractors would be launched in the Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.
He wrote on X, “All set for the launch of the 2,000 Tractors for the Renewed Hope Agriculture Mechanisation Program, HEDA, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. GCFR.”
A multi-billion-dollar equipment project carried out under the Nigeria-Belarus Partnership, the project is aimed at boosting food production in Nigeria.
The project also represents the largest agricultural mechanisation initiative in the history of Nigeria.
For the past month, the president has commissioned several projects within the Federal Capital Territory.
Some of the projects inaugurated by the presisent in the FCT include the rehabilitation of the International Conference Centre and key roads across the nation’s capital city.
