Ibadan, Nigeria – In a landmark ceremony held at the Oyo State Pacesetter Transport Services headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan (OYOPTS), Hon Dr Ibraheem Oladeji Salami, Chairman and Sole Administrator of OYOPTS, was presented with the National Outstanding Award in recognition of his visionary leadership and transformative impact on the transport sector in Oyo State.
The award was conferred by the Congress of Nigerian Youth CONYO, a prominent youth-led organization known for recognizing leaders who demonstrate excellence, innovation, and service to humanity.
In his address, CONYO Secretary-General, Mr Adetunji Abdulkabir Adeyinka, praised Hon Salami’s remarkable leadership, noting his role in overhauling and modernizing the Oyo State transport system. He specifically highlighted initiatives that expanded regional connectivity, improved transportation safety, and upgraded the state’s transport infrastructure to meet modern standards.
Hon Salami’s leadership has not only enhanced the movement of goods and services across Oyo and neighboring states but has also inspired a culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability that resonates with millions of Nigerian youth, Mr Adeyinka said.
In his acceptance speech, Hon Dikko Salami expressed deep appreciation to CONYO for the recognition, reaffirming his commitment to upholding ethical governance and continuing to serve as a role model for the next generation.
This award is a call to do more. I remain committed to the principles of good governance and to building a transport system that works for all, he said.
The event was graced by several high-ranking CONYO officials, including Mr Stephen Fiyinfoluwa Tegbe, CONYO Oyo State Coordinator; Mr Abdullahi Popoola, Ogun State Representative; and Mr Showunmi Emmanuel, Director of Media.
