Since Nigeria transitioned from military to civilian rule in 1999 till date this country has being undergoing through leadership challenges. A lot of troubles and things seem to be falling apart; nothing is likely to change even in the near future.
Where are Nigerian youths? It is a duty upon your shoulder to be the architects of change, the catalyst for progress and the guardians for hope. Lets sanitize our country and take charge of our destiny.
Take an instance of Captain Ibrahim Traore an interim leader of Burkina Faso, having taken over the position following a coup.
Since Traoré has been in power, Burkina Faso has played a key role in the withdrawal of three west African states from the regional body Ecowas. Burkina Faso, Niger and Mali have formed an alternative, the Alliance of Sahel States. Other significant achievements include establishing the National Support Center for Artisanal Cotton Processing, building a new airport, and considerable agricultural investment.
Furthermore, Traoré has rejected financial assistance from the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, insisting the country can develop without the West’s loans and conditionalities. For some, this is a demonstration of Africans handling their own affairs. For the youth, Traoré’s regime is a chance to show what young people can achieve. But for most ordinary Burkinabé, the priority is simply improving their daily living conditions.
Here in Nigeria there are youths that have like minds with that of Traore such as Hon. Comr. Abdullahi Ibrahim Baruga a patriotic and selfless Nigerian, a pan African and a man of action, who demonstrate all the qualities of leadership.
Arise o Nigerian youths, lets stand for something or we fall for everything.
